My kids love this book, especially my 3.5 year old daughter. I love how it includes a diverse family and teaches the girls to accept their differences. It’s also fun to read because of the humor and conversation. I highly recommend this cute story of two twins Roda and Bushra!

Bushra and Roda are identical twins. But Bushra has straight hair and Roda has curly hair, and they both wish they had the opposite twin’s hair. They decide one day to switch, and with the help of a curling iron and straightener, they turn into the other twin. They start to enjoy their day with their new hair, but they end up confusing everyone, and by the end of the day they realize how hard it was to be mistaken for their twin. (Spiders are involved in this process!) The girls have different interests and personalities, and so it is difficult for them to adjust. ⠀ ⠀ But they learn a valuable lesson at the end- that it is beautiful to be unique, and that the world is a more beautiful place because everyone is different and unique.⠀ ⠀ Many lessons can be learned from this funny story- first off, it is important to be happy with the qualities Allah created you with! (As said by their parents) ⠀ Also, your unique qualities make you who you are, and you should be proud of yourself and confident in your individual qualities.⠀ ⠀ This is such a relatable topic- I have heard my daughter many times request me to change her hair color and style. And I always tell her that she is beautiful how Allah made her. It is lovely to see a story that addresses this issue. ⠀ ⠀ One thing me and my kids also found hilarious was the teachers’ names: Mrs. Lemon and Mrs. Crumbly...it made us hungry for some lemon cake😂⠀ ⠀

A beautifully well written story about self love regardless of what style we decide to wear today :)

Jihan and Yasir's summary of what they liked about this book: The moral lessons to be grateful for who you are and the way Allah made you. We are all unique in our own ways we don't have to make ourselves be somebody else whom we aren't. We are masterpiece creation from The Perfect Creator!

My daughter loved this book about two twins who experiment with their hair. I love that a lot of your books have biracial families, and it is easy for my family to relate.

The main takeaway from this fun story is the importance of showing gratitude to the Almighty for the way that He has created us, individually unique. I really like the way that the protagonists unexpectedly are mistaken for one another without it being the intention of their plan. This experience helps them understand their own uniqueness and appreciation the way that they are created. The illustrations are okay, they explain the storyline. I do appreciate the fact that the publisher always has a goal in mind to represent the diversity of the muslim community in her stories. (You will see this in all their books). I love the discussion questions in the end, especially the question that asks the reader to name tree things they love about themselves. This is a great story to have in your collection that would make the kids think about their own individuality.

My kids loved this book! My 7yr old esp loved it bc she has curly hair n the 3yr old has straighter hair and she always wanted to try switching it up, so her eyes lit up and lips gleamed with every page and possibility ... the message gives a beautiful message of loving yourself for how you were created as it was indeed perfect <3

I ordered this book because I have twins who also have very different hair! It's an awesome lesson on appreciating our own unique traits. Additionally, as an educator, I appreciate literature that shows representation in a variety of ways. I have recommended this book to many of my students as well who are B.Ed Candidates.

The story is about twin sisters who are not content about the type of hair they have and wish they had each other’s hair- one curly and one straight. So they come up with an idea to fulfill their wishes and follow through. The story is well paced and detailed about the negative consequences of their choice and how finally they come to learn that should appreciate what they have and not be sneaky or go behind their parents back. Illustrations are adorable and appealing. This story deals with things children can easily relate to- wants, desires, misbehavior and consequences in a school and family setting. Loving how Allah created you and honesty are important lessons taught in this thought provoking story. I think girls will more interested in this story than boys since the main characters are the twin sisters. Jazakum Allahu khairan!
